Speaker
Argo CD on easymode. Introducing "Apps Repositories"

Speaker
Modern organizations use modern principles like autonomous product teams. But has your organization built the tools needed to enable teams to be truly autonomous? In this talk we will be taking a closer look at Argo CD and sharing experiences from the platform team at Kartverket. We'll write an ApplicationSet together that enables team autonomy, and share how our apps repo architecture gives teams in Kartverket a pleasant and user-friendly experience with Argo CD.

Successful Cloud Native Platform Engineering – Hype vs Reality - And a lot of Best Practices

Speaker
Only 40% of engineering time is productive, and 36% of engineers leave organizations because of bad developer experience as organizations try to adopt cloud native technologies and practices! Platform Engineering overcomes those challenges through “Golden Path” templates that operationalize DevSecOps and SRE practices. But - don't just build a Platform - as this is bound to fail! 🎙️ In this session, we have Andreas (Andi) Grabner, CNCF Ambassador, who will be sharing what he has seen from organizations around the globe that made them build successful IDPs (Internal Development Platforms). It's all about solving developers' pain points, having a straightforward way to measure the impact, starting with a TVP, providing a good user experience, and making sure everything is observable!
Developer Platform Consoles Should Be Dumb

Speaker
Most of the developer platform consoles I saw are getting it completely wrong, and I honestly cannot understand why. For decades now we know that a good UI is a dumb UI. A good UI does not contain much logic. UIs rely on APIs to discover what can be done and what information is needed to do whatever should be done. Yet, when I see developer portal UIs, more often than not, they do not try to rely on APIs. Instead, they are doing their best to ignore them, to bypass them, to use their internal APIs, and to do too much for no good reason.
Optimising Java for Cloud: The Enterprise, The Serverless, and The Native

Speaker
Do you want to know your options for running Java on Google Cloud? We will explore various options for running workloads written using the latest Java and Jakarta EE versions on serverless offerings like AppEngine and CloudRun. Furthermore, we will look at optimizing your runtime performance using various frameworks and Native Image compilation.
